The Book List
Formerly my 50 books 12 months challenge page, I failed that, by the way, it is now just my page where I intend to record all the books I read.
———————
1) How to Speak Dragonese:
Nice way to start the list off, I think. The list never said what kind of books anyways, so this totally counts~
2) Hawkes Harbor:

This was a great book, had a bittersweet ending. I kind of want to reread The Outsiders now…but I already have several books lined up that I want to read…hopefully it’ll make the list though.
3) The Da Vinci Code:

I’ve been done with this book forever, but I haven’t been able to get a hold of a computer to add it to the list until now. I’d seen the movie before, but it had been long enough to where I didn’t remember all the ins and outs of the puzzles. It read a lot faster than I would have thought, but that isn’t a bad thing. Over all, I was satisfied with this book, and didn’t think it was a waste of time reading it.
4) A Whole New Mind:

Not much to say about this one, as I had to read it for class. It was interesting, but it was mandatory as well…
5) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:

Loved it! I was surprised at how close the most recent movie kept with it, but it was a pleasant surprise. I hope the library will have the other one when I go back.
6) Tales From Outer Suburbia

Sure it has pictures, but the stories were short and quirky. I really enjoyed this book, even if it probably wasn’t what this challenge had in mind. It’s better than nothing though, because I read a lot of graphic novels that I could be putting on this list!
7) The Wild Things

The book version of the movie adaptation of “Where the Wild Things Are,” and I loved it. It was published the same year that the movie came out, so I’m not sure if it was written before or after the screenplay, but I honestly like the book better than the movie. It has more details about the island and a couple details that weren’t in the movie. Great book, all in all.
8) Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator

This was quite entertaining, and I didn’t expect aliens to be in it, but there were! It only half way surprised me, considering Oompa Loompas and all.
9) Matilda

Another great book by Mr. Dahl. But until about half way through, I was beginning to think the movie counter part had made up her telekinesis, which seemed an awful big thing to fabricate, though it’s been done before. It showed up near the end after all though!
10) Hatching Magic

The magic was pretty interesting in this story.
11) Dreadlocks

A short read. The process the people went through while turning to stone was intriguing.
12) Possibility of Fireflies

I usually read stories with a sci fi/fantasy twist, but this was a nice change of pace, and a quick read as well.
13) Howl’s Moving Castle

This book is SO good. I want to read more by this author :]
14) Chance Fortune and The Outlaws

Not much to say, really.
15) The Tales of Beedle the Bard

If I have children, these will be some of the fairy tales that I read to them.
16) Chance Fortune in the Shadow Zone

I sort of lost interest in this one, to be honest :/ I didn’t want to finish it, so I skimmed the last few chapters…
17) Daddy’s

First of all, you’re looking at this book the same way I had to read it; sideways. Second, this is a book of short stories. My favorites include My Brother, Unpreparing, Love Song, Us, Loofah, and Marie Noe Talks to You about Her Kids.
18) An Exchange of Gifts

I honestly got this book because it was small and square…But it was an interesting story, so that was nice haha.
19) Echo

This book is amazing. I love it, and I definitely recommend you give it a look.
